About this banknote
The National Bank of Ukraine issued the 20,000 karbovantsiv banknote in 1994. This denomination was introduced on October 7, 1994, as part of Ukraine's efforts to manage hyperinflation during its transition to a market economy.
The obverse features the Saint Volodymyr Monument in Kyiv, depicting Prince Volodymyr the Great holding a cross. The reverse displays the facade of the National Bank of Ukraine building. The banknote measures 126 x 57 mm and is predominantly lilac and tan. It was demonetized on September 17, 1996.
