About Koguja.ee

Koguja.ee ("koguja" means "collector" in Estonian) is a world banknote catalog run by Andrei, a paper money collector from Estonia. The site has been online since 2004 (here is how it looked back then) and was rebuilt from scratch in 2026 as a modern catalog.

Why this site exists

My own collection contains several thousand banknotes, kept in albums and organised by country and period. Many of them differ only in small details: the signature of a bank official, a serial prefix, or a printing variant. Most online catalogs skip such details. Koguja.ee aims to show every variant with clear photographs, so collectors can identify exactly what they hold.

• Pick catalog numbers, dimensions, printers, signatures and issue dates
• Variants of the same note, with what makes each one different
• 50+ articles (new ones published regularly) on banknote history, identification and collecting

Where the data comes from

Catalog data is based on the Standard Catalog of World Paper Money (Pick), cross-checked with Numista and auction archives. Many photographs are scans of notes from my own collection; images from other sources are published with the source credited. Descriptive texts are written with AI assistance from verified catalog facts and pass automated quality checks. They are not a substitute for a specialised catalog when valuing rare notes.
