The National Bank of Ukraine issued the 100-hryvnia banknote (Pick 114) on September 2, 1996, as part of the country's transition to the hryvnia currency. This note was printed by the British security printing company De La Rue.
The front of the banknote features a portrait of Taras Shevchenko, a prominent Ukrainian poet and artist, on the right side.
