About this banknote
The National Bank of Ukraine issued the 10-hryvnia banknote (Pick 111a) in 1994, with circulation commencing on September 1, 1997. This release was part of Ukraine's efforts to establish a stable national currency following its independence in 1991.
The obverse features a portrait of Hetman Ivan Mazepa at the center right. The reverse depicts the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra monastery. The banknote measures 133 × 66 mm and includes a watermark of Ivan Mazepa. It was printed by the National Bank of Ukraine's Banknote-Mint.
