About this banknote
The Estonian Ministry of Finance issued the 500 Mark treasury note in 1920, during the early years of Estonia's independence following World War I. This issuance was part of the country's efforts to establish a stable monetary system amid economic challenges and political instability.
The front of the note features an eagle and the national coat of arms, printed in black on a gray underprint. The reverse side displays stylized cloud motifs. Measuring 171 x 105 mm, the note was printed by Riigi Trükikoda, Estonia's state printing house.
