About this banknote
The Estonian Ministry of Finance issued the 50 Penni treasury note in 1919 as part of the Treasury Notes series. This series was introduced to establish a national currency following Estonia's declaration of independence in 1918. The notes were printed by Paalmann in Tallinn, Estonia, on paper produced by the Räpina Paper Factory.
The front of the 50 Penni note features an ornamental design at the center on a light blue underprint. Proofs and specimens of this note exist, along with numerous color trials. The note measures 90 x 63 mm and bears the signatures of J. Kiwisild and P. Õpik. A total of 13,062,924 pieces were produced.
