About this banknote
The Central Bank of Armenia issued the 25 dram banknote in 1993 as part of the country's first series of national currency, following its independence in 1991. This series was introduced on November 22, 1993, with denominations of 10, 25, 50, 100, 200, and 500 drams.
The obverse of the 25 dram note features a frieze with a lion from the Erebuni Fortress at the center right and a cuneiform tablet at the upper-left center. The reverse displays an arched ornament at the upper center. The banknote measures 125 x 62 mm and was printed by Giesecke+Devrient in Leipzig, Germany. It ceased to be legal tender in Armenia on April 1, 2004.
