About this banknote
The Central Bank of Armenia issued the 100 dram banknote in 1993 as part of the country's inaugural currency series following its independence in 1991. This series was introduced on November 22, 1993, marking the establishment of the Armenian dram as the national currency.
The obverse of the banknote features Mount Ararat and the Zvartnots Cathedral, constructed between 641 and 661. The reverse depicts the State Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre in Yerevan. The banknote measures 136 x 65 mm and was printed by Giesecke+Devrient in Leipzig, Germany. It ceased to be legal tender on January 1, 2004.
