About this banknote
The Estonian Ministry of Finance issued the 200 Mark banknote in 1918 as part of the 5% Short-Term Obligations series. This series was introduced to establish a national currency following Estonia's declaration of independence on February 24, 1918.
The 200 Mark note is uniface, printed on one side only, and features the inscription "Eesti Vabariigi Kassatäht" (Treasury Note of the Republic of Estonia). It was demonetized on August 1, 1927, when the Estonian mark was replaced by the kroon at a rate of 1 kroon = 100 marka.
