About this banknote
The Bulgarian National Bank issued the 20 leva banknote in 1943, during the reign of King Boris III. This series was introduced to meet the currency demands of the period.
The obverse features the inscription "ДВАДЕСЕТЪ ЛЕВА" (twenty leva) centrally, with the national coat of arms below. The reverse displays the coat of arms on the left and the numeral "20" in the center. The banknote was printed by the State Printing House in Sofia and was demonetized on May 12, 1952.
