The Bulgarian National Bank issued the 20 leva banknote (Pick 79a) in 1950. This series was introduced during the People's Republic of Bulgaria period, reflecting the country's post-World War II economic adjustments.
The obverse features the numeral "20" within a central vignette, accompanied by inscriptions in Cyrillic script stating "Двадесет Лева" (Twenty Leva) and "Българската Народна Банка" (Bulgarian National Bank). The reverse displays the Bulgarian National Bank building in Sofia. Designed by Tzvetana Kosturkova, the note measures 81 x 46 mm and was printed by the State Printing House in Sofia.
