About this banknote
The Ukrainian State issued the 2,000 hryven banknote in 1918, during a period of monetary reform aimed at establishing a national currency. This denomination was introduced to address the economic needs of the newly independent state following the Central Council's decision on 1 March 1918 to adopt the hryvnia as the national currency.
The front of the banknote features the denomination "2000" prominently displayed, with inscriptions in Cyrillic script indicating "Ukrainian State" and "State Credit Note." The reverse side includes the denomination and additional inscriptions, also in Cyrillic script. The note measures 222 x 133 mm and was printed on paper with a watermark consisting of alternating columns of crosses and circles.
