About this banknote
The Republic of Estonia issued the 1000 Mark treasury note in 1919 as part of its initial currency series following independence. On 30 November 1918, the Provisional Government established the Estonian mark, modeled after the German ostmark, to replace various foreign currencies circulating at the time.
This uniface banknote features an ornamental design at the center, surrounded by a border of stylized flowers and vines. The note measures 198 millimeters in length and 113 millimeters in width.
