About this banknote
The Bulgarian National Bank issued the 1000 Leva Zlatni banknote in 1918. This series was introduced during the reign of Tsar Ferdinand I, who abdicated on October 3, 1918, in favor of his son, Boris III. The banknote was printed by Gebrüder Parcus in Munich, Germany.
The obverse features a portrait of Tsar Ferdinand I in military uniform. The reverse displays multicolored vignettes and the denomination. The banknote measures 220 × 129 mm and includes a watermark depicting Tsar Simeon the Great. This note was not issued for circulation and is considered rare.
