About this banknote
The Bulgarian National Bank issued the 5 Leva Srebro banknote in 1916. This series was introduced during the reign of King Ferdinand I, who ruled from 1887 to 1918. The banknote was signed by Chakalov and Venkov.
The obverse features the text "ПЕТЪ ЛЕВА СРЕБРО" (Five Leva Silver) in the center, with the numeral "5" in vignettes at each corner. The reverse displays the Bulgarian coat of arms encircled by the inscription "ЦАРСТВО БЪЛГАРИЯ" (Kingdom of Bulgaria). The note measures 130 × 85 mm and was printed by Reichsdruckerei (RDK) in Berlin, Germany, without an imprint. It was demonetized on May 5, 1924.
