About this banknote
The Banco de México issued the 100 pesos banknote (Pick 124c) on December 19, 2012. This release was part of the Series F banknotes, introduced to enhance security features and assist the visually impaired. Notably, in November 2012, the bank distributed plastic clipboards with raised measurement marks and Braille characters to aid in denomination identification.
The obverse features Nezahualcóyotl, a pre-Columbian philosopher and ruler of Texcoco, along with a poem about the zentzontle bird, represented by jade, a flower, and two seated men. The reverse depicts the Templo Mayor, aqueduct, and central plaza of Tenochtitlán, accompanied by a cricket. The note measures 134 x 66 mm and was printed by the Banco de México.
