About this banknote
The Banco de México issued the 100 pesos banknote (Pick 108a) on May 6, 1994. This series was introduced as part of the transition from the "nuevos pesos" to the "pesos" currency system, reflecting changes in the country's monetary policy during that period.
The front of the banknote features a portrait of Nezahualcóyotl on the right and an Aztec figure at the center. The reverse side displays the statue of Xochipilli. The note measures 155 x 65 mm and includes a solid security thread with demetalized "CIEN" and a watermark of Nezahualcóyotl. It was printed by the Banco de México.
