About this banknote
The Republic of Estonia issued the 100 Mark banknote in 1919 as part of its early monetary system following independence. This series was introduced to establish a national currency during the formative years of the Estonian state.
The front of the banknote features a woman seated at a spinning wheel, symbolizing industry. The reverse displays the marble statues "Koit" (Dawn) and "Hämarik" (Dusk) by sculptor August Weizenberg. Printed by Tilgmann Lithography in Finland, the note measures 140 x 83 mm and bears the signatures of Johan Kukk and Jaan Kivisild.
