About this banknote
The Bank of Estonia issued the 100 Mark banknote in 1919 as part of the 5% Short-Term Obligations series. This series was introduced to establish a national currency following Estonia's declaration of independence in 1918. The 100 Mark note, identified as Pick number 2A, was printed by Tilgmann Lithography in Finland.
The obverse of the banknote features a woman seated with a spinning wheel. The reverse displays the marble statues "Koit" (Dawn) and "Hämarik" (Dusk) by sculptor August Weizenberg. The note measures 155 x 93 mm and is printed in brown ink. It bears the signatures of Johan Kukk and Jaan Kivisild.
