The Central Bank of Ceylon issued this 10 rupee banknote on October 6, 1975. It features the signatures of Minister of Finance Felix R. Dias Bandaranaike and Governor of the Central Bank Herbert E. Tennekoon.
The front displays the statue of Parakramabahu I in Polonnaruwa, while the back features a sculpted guardstone (Muragala) with the serpent king Naga Raja at the Vatadage in Polonnaruwa.
