About this banknote
The "10 Mark" banknote was issued by the Government of Estonia in 1922 as part of the "Vahetustäht" Bank Exchange Notes series. During this time, Estonia was establishing its national currency following independence in 1918. The series aimed to stabilize the monetary system and replace older currencies during a period of economic transition.
The front side of the banknote features ornate text inscriptions with "EESTI VABARIIGI" prominently displayed along with the number "10" in the center, surrounded by decorative elements. The back side showcases the denomination "KÜMME MARKA" with intricate patterns and inscriptions outlining the legal obligations for use. The Pick number for this note is 53b.
