About this banknote
The 10 Mark banknote was issued by the Republic of Estonia as part of the Treasury Notes of 1919 series. This series was introduced during a period of nation-building for Estonia following its declaration of independence on February 24, 1918. The notes were printed to establish a national currency during the post-World War I economic restructuring.
The front side of the note features a shepherd blowing a horn between a cow and a sheep. On the reverse, there is a depiction of a man with a horse positioned between cornucopiae. This note, listed as Pick number 46, was issued on Tervakoski paper from Finland and printed by Tilgmann in Helsinki, with a production of 2,050,400 notes.
