About this banknote
The Bank of Estonia issued the 10 Krooni banknote in 1991 as part of the reintroduction of the Estonian kroon currency following the country's regained independence. The banknote was printed by De La Rue in London and entered circulation in 1992.
The obverse features a portrait of Jakob Hurt (1839–1907), an Estonian folklorist, theologian, and linguist. The reverse depicts the Tamme-Lauri oak tree located in Urvaste. The banknote measures 140 x 70 mm and includes a watermark of three heraldic lions. It was demonetized on January 14, 2011, following Estonia's adoption of the euro.
