About this banknote
The Bulgarian National Bank issued the 50,000 leva banknote in 1997. This release was part of a series introduced to address the economic challenges of the time, including hyperinflation. The banknote was printed by Giesecke & Devrient in Leipzig, Germany, with a total of 44 million notes produced.
