About this banknote
The Bulgarian National Bank issued the 100 leva banknote (Pick 102b) in 1993 as part of the 1991–1994 series. This series was introduced during Bulgaria's transition to a market economy following the end of the socialist era in 1990.
The obverse features a self-portrait of the artist Zaharii Zograf, along with a fragment of one of his frescoes. The reverse displays his fresco "The Circle of Life" on the right side.
