Banknote description
The front design features a male dancer with a local headdress on the right, set against a multicolor underprint in shades of brown-violet, deep blue, and blue-green. An enhanced latent image security feature is present at the lower center, with the serial number prefix K. The back design displays butterflies above temple ruins, complemented by a shield and an ornamental sword hilt in the lower foreground, in a vertical format. A watermark of a lion with a sword is also included.
It is signed by Sarath Amunugama and A.S. Jayawardena. The note is printed by TDLR and incorporates a color palette of blue, orange, and brown. In 2004, the issuance of this banknote was part of Sri Lanka's ongoing efforts to enhance currency security and design.
