About this banknote
The Central Bank of Venezuela issued the 50 bolívares banknote on January 15, 2018, as part of the Bolívar Soberano series introduced to address hyperinflation. This series replaced the previous currency at a rate of 1 Bolívar Soberano to 100,000 old bolívares.
The obverse features a portrait of Antonio José de Sucre, a prominent figure in Venezuela's independence.
