About this banknote
The 3 rubles banknote was issued by the "Zementfabrik Port-Kunda," a cement factory in Estonia, in 1941. This note was part of emergency money used during the occupation period, as standard currency circulation was disrupted. It served a localized function primarily to facilitate transactions within the factory and local community.
The front side of the note displays the denomination "DREI RUBEL / KOLM RUBLA" prominently in green against a cream background. It features bilingual inscriptions in German and Estonian. Signed by factory officials, it bears the date "20. august 1941." The reverse contains terms of use and a factory stamp. The note was not part of an officially government-sanctioned series, thus it doesn't possess a Pick number.
