The Banco Central de Bolivia issued the 20 bolivianos banknote under the Law of December 20, 1945. This series was introduced into circulation between 1950 and 1955, with different series letters corresponding to specific years: Series A in 1950, Series C in 1952, and Series D-Q between 1954 and 1955.
The front of the note features a portrait of Simón Bolívar on the right and the national coat of arms on the left. The reverse displays the obverse and reverse of an 1862 Bolivian silver coin, along with an image of the Potosí Mint.
