About this banknote
The Bulgarian National Bank issued the 10,000 leva banknote in 1996. This note was part of the 1994–1996 series, introduced during a period of economic transition in Bulgaria.
The obverse features a self-portrait of the painter Vladimir Dimitrov-Maystora, with the National Academy of Arts building in Sofia in the background. The reverse displays fragments from Dimitrov-Maystora’s works, including "The Bulgarian Madonna" and various floral motifs.
