About this banknote

The Central Bank of Chile issued the 1000 Pesos banknote (Pick 107) on February 28, 1945. This series was introduced during the presidency of Enrique Oyarzún Mondaca (1940–1946) and the general management of Arturo Maschke Tornero (1943–1953).

The obverse features a brown portrait of Manuel Blanco Encalada on a green underprint, with his name inscribed below. The reverse depicts Spaniards at the center. The note measures 180 × 80 mm and was printed by Talleres de Especies Valoradas in Santiago, Chile.
