About this banknote
The Banco Central de Chile issued the 5 Pesos banknote (Pick 91c) on April 24, 1940. This note was part of a series introduced between 1932 and 1942, with the 1940 issuance signed by Marcial Mora Miranda, President of the Central Bank (1939-1940), and Otto Meyerholz Gallardo, General Manager of the Central Bank (1932-1943).
The obverse features a portrait of Bernardo O'Higgins on the right, without his name beneath. The reverse displays the bank's seal on the right and a large numeral "5" on the left. Printed by Talleres de Especies Valoradas in Santiago, Chile, the note measures 145 x 70 mm.
