About this banknote
The Estonian Ministry of Finance issued the 1000 Mark treasury note in 1920 as part of the Treasury Notes series of 1920–1921. This series was introduced to establish a stable national currency following Estonia's declaration of independence in 1918.
The reverse of the note features the artwork "Birth of Liberty" by Nikolai Voldemar Triik. The note includes a watermark with the letters "EV" and was issued in Series A and B varieties.
