About this banknote
The Bulgarian National Bank issued the 1000 leva banknote in 1944. This series was introduced during the reign of King Simeon II, who ascended the throne in 1943. The banknote was printed by the State Printing House (Държавна печатница) in Sofia, Bulgaria.
The obverse features the coat of arms of the Kingdom of Bulgaria on the left side, with the denomination "1000 лева" prominently displayed. The reverse side includes an interest table. The banknote measures 170 x 95 mm and was printed on paper. It was demonetized after the currency reform in 1952.
