About this banknote
The Ministry of Finance of Estonia issued the 100 Mark Treasury Notes in 1919 as part of the Treasury Notes of 1919 series. This series was introduced following Estonia's declaration of independence in 1918 and was part of the efforts to establish a national currency during the early years of the Estonian Republic.
The front side of the banknote features a design with a woman at a spinning wheel, accompanied by a man on the left and another woman on the right, set against a tan underprint. This note was printed by Tilgmann in Helsinki, Finland, on Tervakoski paper. A total of 700,000 pieces were produced, each signed by J. Kukk and J. Kiwisild.
