About this banknote
The Bank of Zambia issued the 100 kwacha banknote (Pick 38) in 2008 as part of a series that began in 1992. This series was introduced to standardize the nation's currency and reflect Zambia's cultural and natural heritage.
The obverse features an African fish eagle on the right, a palm tree in the center, and the national coat of arms with the date at the lower left. The reverse displays a water buffalo head on the left, Victoria Falls in the center, and the "Chainbreaker" statue on the right.
