About this banknote
The Bank of Zambia issued the 100 kwacha banknote (Pick 38) in 2005 as part of the 1992/1996 ND Issue series. This series was introduced to update the nation's currency designs and security features during the early 1990s.
The obverse of the banknote features a deep purple hue with a multicolor underprint, displaying an African Fish Eagle on the right, a palm tree at the center, and the Zambian coat of arms with the date at the lower left. The reverse showcases an African buffalo head on the left, the Freedom Statue (also known as "Chainbreaker") at the center, and Victoria Falls in the background. The banknote measures 140 x 70 mm and was printed by De La Rue.
