About this banknote
The Bank of Zambia issued the 100 kwacha banknote in 2003 as part of the 1992-2011 series. This series, introduced in 1992, replaced the portrait of President Kenneth Kaunda with the African fish eagle on the obverse.

The reverse displays a water buffalo head on the left, Victoria Falls at the center, and the Freedom Statue in Lusaka on the right. The banknote measures 141 x 70 mm and was printed by Thomas De La Rue.
