About this banknote
The Allied Military Government for Occupied Territories issued the 100 francs banknote (Pick 118) in 1944 during the liberation of France. Printed by Forbes Lithograph Manufacturing Co. in Boston, these notes were introduced on June 6, 1944, to provide a stable currency in the newly liberated regions.
The obverse features the inscription "EMIS EN FRANCE" within a guilloche pattern, while the reverse displays the French flag with the motto "LIBERTÉ ÉGALITÉ FRATERNITÉ." Measuring 156 x 66 mm, the note was demonetized on June 15, 1945.
