About this banknote
The Central Bank of Venezuela issued the 100 bolívares banknote on October 13, 1998. This release marked the final issuance of this denomination before the introduction of new currency designs.
The obverse features a portrait of Simón Bolívar, inspired by Tito Salas's painting "Retrato Ecuestre de El Libertador." The reverse displays the National Capitol building on the left and the Venezuelan coat of arms on the right. The banknote measures 156 × 69 mm and was printed by Bundesdruckerei GmbH in Germany.
