About this banknote
The State Credit Notes series was issued by the Russian Empire between 1843 and 1865. This series was introduced as part of a monetary reform initiated in 1843, replacing the previous assignation rubles with credit notes backed by silver.
The 10 rubles note from this series features a crowned double-headed eagle within an ornate frame at the top center of the obverse side. The note measures 185 mm in width and 132 mm in height. It was printed on reddish paper and includes a watermark displaying the year "1843" and the denomination "10" within a circle.
