About this banknote
The Bank of Guatemala issued the 50 quetzales banknote (Pick 77c) on January 22, 1992. This release was part of a series introduced between 1989 and 1992, with the 50 quetzales denomination first appearing in 1967.
The obverse features a portrait of Carlos O. Zachrisson, Minister of Finance and architect of the 1923–1926 monetary and banking reform. The reverse depicts crop workers harvesting coffee. The banknote measures 156 x 68 mm and was printed by Thomas De La Rue & Co.
