About this banknote
The Central Bank of Bolivia (Banco Central de Bolivia) issued the 50,000 Pesos Bolivianos banknote in 1984, as part of its efforts to address the country's escalating inflation. This denomination was introduced under Supreme Decree 20273, dated June 5, 1984.
The obverse of the banknote features a portrait of Gualberto Villarroel on the right and the national coat of arms on the left. The reverse depicts a petroleum refinery at the center. Printed by Thomas De La Rue & Co. Ltd., the note measures 155 x 65 mm and was demonetized on December 31, 1987.
