About this banknote
The Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe issued the 50,000-dollar bearer cheque (Pick 47) on March 1, 2007, during a period of severe hyperinflation. These bearer cheques were introduced as temporary currency to address cash shortages, with an original expiry date of July 31, 2007, later extended to July 31, 2008.
The front of the note features the Reserve Bank emblem and the denomination in optically variable ink. The reverse depicts an African elephant at Victoria Falls. The note measures 148 x 74 mm and includes a watermark of the Zimbabwe Bird with the letters "RBZ."
