About this banknote

The State Treasury of the Russian Socialist Federative Soviet Republic (RSFSR) issued the 50 rubles banknote in 1914. On February 12, 1918, the All-Russian Central Executive Committee decreed that these notes would circulate alongside other currencies without any overprints, accepted at their specified face value.

The front side of the banknote features intricate patterns on a green underprint, measuring 155 x 140 mm. Initially, these notes bore a 4% annual interest, with payments made semi-annually over four years; however, the interest premium was disregarded upon their reintroduction in 1918.
