About this banknote
The Banco Central de la República Argentina issued the 50 pesos banknote in 1974, under the authority of Decreto-Ley 18.188/69. This series was part of the 1973-1976 ND Issue and featured two signature varieties: one with signatures of Ricardo A. Cairoli and Alfredo Gómez Morales, and another with Emilio Mondelli and Ricardo A. Cairoli.
The obverse displays a portrait of General José de San Martín on the right, accompanied by oak and olive branches. The reverse features an image of the Termas de Reyes (Hot Springs of Kings) hotel in Jujuy. The banknote measures 155 x 75 mm and includes a watermark of the Argentine coat of arms. It was printed by Casa de Moneda de la Nación in Buenos Aires and was demonetized on April 1, 1982.
