About this banknote
The Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey (Türkiye Cumhuriyet Merkez Bankası) issued the 50 lira banknote (Pick 225) in 2009. This note was part of the E9 Emission Group, introduced on January 1, 2009, following the removal of six zeros from the Turkish lira in 2005.
The front of the banknote features a portrait of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the founder of modern Turkey, on the right side. The reverse side displays an image of Fatma Aliye, a pioneering Turkish novelist, also positioned on the right. The note measures 148 x 68 mm and was printed by the Central Bank of Turkey's Banknote Printing House.
