About this banknote
The National Bank of Ukraine issued the 50-hryvnia banknote in 2014, continuing the design introduced in 2004. This series was released into circulation on August 1, 2014, under the signature of Stepan Ivanovych Kubiv, who served as the Governor of the National Bank of Ukraine at that time.
The front of the banknote features a portrait of Mykhailo Hrushevskyi, a prominent Ukrainian historian and political figure. The reverse side depicts the building of the Ukrainian Central Rada, constructed in 1912 by architect Pavlo Alioshyn. This 50-hryvnia note measures 136 x 72 mm and is printed on violet-tinted paper.
