The Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe issued the 50-dollar banknote in 1994 as part of the "Chiremba Rocks" series, which was introduced between 1994 and 1997 to replace earlier banknotes issued from 1980 to 1994.
The front of the note features the Chiremba Balancing Rocks in Epworth, a flame lily flower, and a rhinoceros. The back depicts the Great Zimbabwe ruins, the Zimbabwe Bird, and a rhinoceros. The note measures 148 x 74 mm and was printed by Fidelity Printers & Refiners, Zimbabwe.
