About this banknote
The Banco Central de la República Argentina issued the 50 centavos banknote in 1950, under the authority of Law No. 12,962 dated March 27, 1947. This series was introduced to facilitate transactions requiring smaller denominations during that period.
The obverse of the banknote features a brown design with the effigy of Liberty wearing a Phrygian cap on the left side. The reverse displays a green motif centered around an open book representing the National Constitution, accompanied by the inscription "Una Nación socialmente justa, económicamente libre, políticamente soberana." The note measures 115 x 65 mm and was printed by the Casa de Moneda de la Nación. It bears the signatures of Juan J. Bosio as General Manager and Alfredo Gómez Morales as President.
